Livingston County coroner releases ID of motel victim

PONTIAC — Authorities have released the name of a 22-year-old central Illinois man who was found dead in a Pontiac motel room, along with a woman and another badly-injured person.

The Livingston County Coroner says Tyler R. Friant was among those found dead Tuesday in the Palamar Motel in Pontiac, about 40 miles northeast of Bloomington. He was from Pontiac.

Officials haven’t yet released the name of a woman who also died or said how the pair died.

Pontiac police have said that investigators aren’t “looking for anyone else” who may have been involved in the attacks, and called it an isolated incident.
