Open mic Aug. 23 at Daily Grind & Grille

The Daily Grind & Grille and Quest Church will host a twice-monthly Open Mic Night in downtown Arlington Heights starting Friday, Aug. 23.

Local musicians, poets and comedians can share their talents every second and fourth Friday night, from 7-10 p.m. at the Daily Grind and Grille, 5 W. Campbell St. There will be a sign up sheet for performers

Keith Kottke is owner of The Daily Grind and Grille, and Ed Taylor is lead pastor of Quest Church, a new nondenominational church in Arlington Heights that will hold services at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre starting Sunday, Oct. 27.

Taylor was seeking a local source for coffee during Sunday services and a possible venue for an open mic.

“I thought (the open mic nights) would be a fun way to get to know the community and support both local business and local artists,” Taylor said. “The Daily Grind and Grille seemed like a perfect fit.”

Kottke, a 44-year Arlington Heights resident, agreed he had the space for it. For information on the Grille, visit www.dailygrindandgrille.com, on Facebook, or call (847) 749-3529.

Quest Church currently meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night at JD’s Q & Brew. Visit the website at www.quest-church.com, on Facebook, or call Taylor at (309) 712-6495.
