Glen Ellyn man faces sex abuse, child porn charges

A Glen Ellyn man has been charged with possessing child pornography and sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl, authorities said Wednesday.

Jeffrey Dixon, 55, of the 500 block of Geneva Road, was indicted Tuesday on six counts of child pornography and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Dixon is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in January and February, and possessing at least six pornographic photos of minors. He was arrested on preliminary charges in late July after an investigation by the DuPage County Children's Center, court records show.

Dixon remains jailed on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear Sept. 9 in front of Judge Kathryn Creswell. He would have to post a $10,000 bond to be released.
