Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) has served as a Secret Service agent for U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart). But a bad call involving the president and first lady (Ashley Judd) puts Banning on desk duty. Then, the White House comes under attack by terrorists during a summit meeting with Korean dignitaries. Banning jumps into action to save the president and his family.
The strong supporting cast includes Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermott, Melissa Leo and Rick Yune. The film will remind you of “Die Hard,” as Banning trades one-liners with the terrorist leader played by Yune and others. The thriller is an assault on the senses as you pull for Banning to save the day and fulfill his opportunity for redemption.
“The Captains Close Up With William Shatner”
“Star Trek” got its start in the 1960s, earning a loyal fan base and cult following that continued through other versions of the show and the movies. William Shatner, known forever as Captain Kirk, came up with idea of interviewing four actors who played the role of captain on other “Star Trek” incarnations. They give their own perspectives, and it is fascinating to watch each one being interviewed by Shatner.
