2 joeys making appearance at Bloomington zoo

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington is showing off two new bouncing bundles of joy.

The Bloomington Pantagraph reports the two wallaroos are just starting to stick their heads out of their mothers’ pouches.

The young kangaroos are about eight months old. The joeys spend the first several months of their lives tucked into their mothers’ pouches and have just started to poke out a head, foot and tail.

The wallaroo is the third-largest variety of kangaroo in Australia.

Eight wallaroos have been born at the Bloomington zoo in the past three years.
