Recycling drive to include electronics

The Association for Individual Development will host a recycling drive from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 17. The program is part of the vocational training for people with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities.

There will be two convenient drop-off locations at the AID offices: 1135 Bowes Road in Elgin, (847) 931-6237; or 309 W. New Indian Trail Road in Aurora, (630) 966-4121.

Alternate drop-off location and times are available through a partnership with Aurora Township Highway Department.

Traditional recycling items include: aluminum, cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic film, plastic bags, scrap metal, and tin cans. They also will accept printers, computers, keyboards, fax machines, video recorders, portable music players, DVD players, video game consoles, scanners, computer mice, digital, converter boxes, cable receivers, and satellite receivers.
