Wheeling ‘Shake the Boot’ fundraiser on Friday

On Friday, Aug. 9 the Wheeling Fire Department will conduct its annual “Shake the Boot” fundraising event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Fire department personnel will collect money at Milwaukee Avenue and Dundee Road, as well as Hintz Road and Wheeling Road in both the morning and evening rush hours. The fire department has been doing this charity fundraising event for approximately 20 years to support MDA’s medical research programs for a cure to various degenerative muscular illnesses.
