Waukegan drug arrest:

Paul Barnes, 42, of the 400 block of Franklin Street, was arrested Friday, Aug, 2, and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, authorities said. Waukegan Police Gang Intelligence Unit officers executed a search warrant at Barnes’ Waukegan home and found 2.4 grams of heroin individually packaged, along with a scale, plastic bags, and $1,500 in cash. Barnes was also in violation of bail as he was out of jail on bond from a charge of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. He is held in Lake County jail on $50,000 bail. He is due back in court Aug. 7.
