Former NFL players pack backpacks for kids in Rosemont

The NFL Players Association — Chicago Chapter’s charitable arm, the Retired Professional Football Players of Chicago, has partnered with Kohl’s Cares for Operation Backpack, an initiative developed to provide backpacks and school supplies for students in need throughout the Chicago area.

Former NFL players and Kohl’s Cares representatives filled backpacks Wednesday at the Westin Hotel in Rosemont with the supplies, which will be distributed at various local sites throughout August.

The NFL charity provided all the supplies, while Kohl’sdonated $25,000 to support the charity’s scholarship program.
