Path no safer if walkers don’t obey signs

I could not believe my eyes at Lake Arlington this evening. I rode my bike over after reading about the freshly painted path signs and posted signs in the paper recently. I thought I had made a mistake at first. While going counterclockwise on the outer edge of the path, I encountered at least 20 people walking the same path in the same direction. And some were even walking two and three abreast and some with strollers! Consequently I had to pass them in the walker’s lane. I honestly could not believe the number of walkers who chose to go the wrong way on the wrong side of the path.
