Wheeling cyclist walks away from crash with car
A cyclist was able to walk away from a collision with a car Saturday morning in Wheeling, a welcome shift after a summer of fatal bike-vehicle crashes in the suburbs.
A man on a bike was hit by a car at about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Dundee Road and Northgate Parkway, authorities said.
The cyclist was transported to hospital but was ambulatory and his injuries did not appear life-threatening, Wheeling police said.
Officials said the crash was still under investigation.
