Interact, observe and ask questions at the Durant House Museum pickling party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 4 and 18. There is a donation of $2 for adults and $1 for kids.

Watch how natural preservation is done from the garden to the pantry. By the end of the day you will know all about how to pickle, the technology that helped modernize the pickling process and why it is still important for food preservation today.
