NCH hosts Recipes & Races to benefit Gift-A-Mammogram program

Northwest Community Healthcare is teaming up with local celebrities for a day of cooking demonstrations and horse racing at Arlington International Racecourse that will benefit NCH’s Gift-A-Mammogram program.

The VIP Recipes & Races program is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, in the International Room at Arlington International Racecourse, 2000 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. The net proceeds of the event will be dedicated to NCH’s Gift-A-Mammogram program, which helps uninsured, low-income women in the community cover the cost of procedures to diagnose breast cancer.

The day at the races will feature cooking demos by local celebrities Mario Tricoci, the founder of Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas; Howard Sudberry, former TV sportscaster and current director of marketing at Arlington Park; Marti Jones, a Chicago radio traffic reporter; and Dr. Michael Kinney, a breast surgeon at NCH. Attendees will be able to sample the celebrities’ dishes and enjoy a panoramic view of horse racing from the International Room.

Mammograms are a vital component of a woman’s complete breast health, but not all women have the financial resources or insurance coverage to benefit from these important screenings.

The comprehensive Breast Center at NCH provides screenings for women every day with advanced technology for mammography and other diagnostic imaging technology that detect even the earliest signs of breast cancer. Doctors recommend that women over 40 get a mammogram every year.

The first 200 registrants for VIP Recipes & Races will receive a Mario Tricoci cosmetic bag, coupon, two complimentary admission tickets to a future race and more, in addition to a gate gift. The preregistration fee is $75. The cost at the gate is $80. Space is limited, so register today. To register online, visit nch.org/vip, or call (847) 618-4260.
