Teen again charged with impersonating cop

A teenager who gained notoriety at age 14 for impersonating a Chicago cop is again facing charges of pretending to be a police officer.

Cook County prosecutors say Vincent Richardson is accused of walking into a uniform shop Tuesday and telling a salesman he was a police officer and wanted to buy supplies. The 19-year-old Richardson was recognized by the salesman, who called police.

State’s attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said Wednesday that Richardson is charged with felony false personification of a police officer.

In 2009, Richardson went into a police station wearing a uniform, went on patrol and assisted in an arrest. The incident was highly embarrassing for the Chicago Police Department.

Richardson has also faced charges of car theft and unlawful use of a gun.
