Fire destroys garage, shed in Round Lake Beach

Two garages and a shed were damaged in a fire in Round Lake Beach Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District were called to the fire on the 1400 block of north Pine Grove Avenue at about 2:15 p.m.

A garage fire there spread to a neighboring shed and garage, causing significant damage to all three structures, said Capt. Tony Carraro.

The original garage and the shed are considered total losses, he said.

Firefighters from several departments assisted in the effort: Grayslake, Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Antioch, Wauconda and Mundelein.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. No damage estimates were available.
