Aurora library employee receives recognition for latest novel

Charles Coddington, longtime resident of Aurora, was recently included on the winners' list of the 2013 DIY Book Festival competition in Los Angeles.

The sponsors of the competition published the list on July 8; Coddington was named runner-up in the Science Fiction category for his entry, "Whispers in the Mind," and will receive a framed certificate attesting to the fact.

This is his first award, although two of his previous works were finalists in other competitions.

Coddington, who is currently employed at the Aurora Public Library, now has seven novels under his belt, of which "Whispers in the Mind" is his latest. Six of his works are science fiction written under the pseudonym “Charlton Clayes,” while the seventh is a social satire bearing his own name.

All are listed with the major on-line booksellers and can also be found locally at the Pierce Art and History Center in Aurora.
