The 2013 Art in Your Eye fine art poster will be unveiled at a chocolate themed reception. Join the celebration as they unveil the 2013 festival fine art poster at a fundraising event titled “A Celebration in Chocolate.”
The celebration will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Interiors for Business in Batavia. This showroom and meeting facility is in the historic Challenge Windmill factory at 409 N. River St. in Batavia.
Tickets are $10 and available online at www.artinyoureye.com, through email at info@artinyoureye.com, or by calling (630) 220-1425.
The reception will feature a display and tasting of the finest chocolate and chocolate baked goods that the Fox Valley has to offer, accompanied by coffee from Limestone Coffee and Tea and wine from Gibby’s Wine Den of Geneva.
Finger-style guitar accompaniment will be provided by guitarist Paul Weiland. A video about the life and work of 2013 poster artist Michele Norman, produced by Stage Fright Productions, will be shown, and Norman will be available to sign posters at the event.
Each year a local artist is awarded the opportunity to be the “poster” artist for the Art in Your Eye Fine Art Festival. The festival committee buys a work of art from that artist and donates it to the City of Batavia for the city’s permanent art collection.
The festival creates a one-of-a-kind artistic collectible poster featuring the artists’ work and information for the promotion of the festival. The 2013 Poster Artist Purchase sponsors are Ed and Joyce Dlugopolski.
The poster printing was donated by BFC Printing and the poster design was donated by Anderson Design.
The ninth annual Art in Your Eye Festival will be Sunday, Sept. 21, and Monday, Sept. 22, at the Batavia Riverwalk Park.
The centerpiece of the show is an outdoor professional fine art show featuring local artists as well as artists from around the country. Art in Your Eye also features a student legacy show, children’s art activities, food, a lineup of outstanding music, poetry readings, community art projects and a juried show of local artists in city hall.
