‘Clover House’ author at Chicago’s Hellenic Museum

The National Hellenic Museum will host a special evening with best-selling author and founding editor of The Drum Literary Magazine, Henriette Lazaridis Power.

Power will discuss her debut novel, “The Clover House,” which explores issues of cross-cultural identity, heritage and family. A book signing is scheduled to follow after the presentation. The event will be held 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the National Hellenic Museum, located at 333 S. Halsted St., Chicago. Doors open at 6 p.m. The program is free with museum admission: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students, and faculty. Museum members and children are free. Tickets available at the door or RSVP online at www.nationalhellenicmuseum.org.

The daughter of Greek immigrants, Henriette Lazaridis Power, grew up in the Boston suburbs. The themes she explores today stem from bedtime stories read from the Odyssey and summer visits with relatives in Greece. In her new novel, Power explores issues of exile, nostalgia, belonging and identity through her main character, Calliope Notaris Brown.
