Periodic closures on Route 21:

Motorists in the Libertyville area are cautioned to expect substantial delays Tuesday, July 9, as part of the Route 137/Milwaukee Avenue project. Weather permitting, pre-cast sections of the multiuse trail (pedestrian tunnel) will be delivered and installed on the west side of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21) about 1,500 feet south of Casey Road. Seven sections, each 20 feet wide and 14 feet tall, will be delivered and installed south of Casey Road. During this process, Route 21 will be closed in both directions between Route 120 and the point south of Casey Road. Periodic closures of about 15 minutes each will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 3:30 p.m. The interval between each closure will be about 30 minutes.
