Inverness police said they were called at 10:14 p.m. to the 100 block of Crichton Lane for a man who was shot in the abdomen.
The victim, whose injuries are not life threatening, was returning his girlfriend to her home and he was shot in the hallway.
The shooter is described as a white male with gray hair, 5 foot, 8 inches, 200 pounds and between 50 and 55 years old, police said. The other man also was a white, about 5 foot, 10 inches tall and thin.
The victim was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was in stable condition Saturday, police said. Police said nothing was stolen from the home but declined to comment further.
