Libertyville Sunrise Rotary recognizes local charities for commitment

Members of the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary recently welcomed various charities from around Lake County to distribute $80,000 in funds raised throughout the year.

Representative from 38 local charities were honored at the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Charitable Giving Dinner in May at Lambs Farm in Libertyville to celebrate their hard work throughout the year.

The Sunrise Rotary members look forward to this special dinner to individually recognize each charity and the work it does. These organizations provide social support to the community due to their unwavering commitment of time and energy.

In addition, the Sunrise Rotary gave out just over $80,000 to the various charities.

“This evening is a wonderful program where all our efforts throughout the year come to fruition,” President Bob Zamor said in his opening remarks. He said the organizations provide a range of services, including shelter for the homeless, psychological counseling, child care, veterans services, scholarships and job training among others.

The recipients were Beacon Place, Bear Magic, Bernie’s Book Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs of Lake County, Career Resource Center, Covers of Comfort, Dan’s House of Hope, David Adler Center, Equestrian Connection, Fit Teen Moms, Free Spirits, GLASA, Health Feach, Helping from Heaven, Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, Center for Independent Living, Lake County Cares, Lake County Haven, LHS Best Buddies, LHS Topcats, LHS Stars Swim Team, Liberty Town Theater, Libertyville Senior Center, Maristella, Mothers Trust, Reading Power, Rebuilding Together, Rosalind Franklin University, SEDOL, Waukegan 2 College, Willow House, Youth and Family Counseling, Youth Conservation Corps, Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, Allen J. Lynch Medal of Honor Veterans Foundation, I Plus Lake County, PADS and the Veterans Affairs commission.

The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary is a local chapter of Rotary International, an international humanitarian service organization.
