Elgin Bears to hold camps for football players, cheerleaders

The Elgin Bears, members of The Chicagoland Youth Football League, will hold open registration and camps for both football and cheerleading from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Drake Field, home of the Elgin Youth Football League, 701 Hastings St., in Elgin.

The football camp for ages 5 to 14 (except for freshmen) will be from noon to 2 p.m.

The cheer camp for ages 5 to 14 and the senior poms camp for ninth- to 12th-graders will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

The camps are free.

From 8:30 to 10 a.m., the cheerleaders will hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser. It will be $5 per plate.

Registration will be going on at the concession stand.
