Palatine chamber to host ‘Rockin’ the Blocks’

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual “Rockin’ the Blocks” community block party and BBQ in downtown Palatine, in the BMO Harris parking lot, at the corners of Brockway and Slade streets. The block party will run from 5 until 11 p.m. on Friday, July 26, and from noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

“Rockin’ the Blocks” live entertainment highlights include the popular cover band Alex and the All Stars on Friday and a high energy performance by Trash Martini on Saturday. Food booths, beer garden, contests, pig roasts and a host of other activities are also planned. The event is free and open to the public.

A portion of the funds raised throughout the event will benefit the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce scholarship programs. Lead sponsors for “Rockin’ the Block” are BMO Harris Bank and Weber-Stephen Products, LLC, other sponsors include Northrop Grumman, Lamplighter Inn and Palatine Bank & Trust.
