Hanover Park teen gets probation for fake school bomb threat

A Hanover Park teen pleaded guilty Wednesday to phoning in a false bomb threat to Hoffman Estates High School last November in an attempt to get her friends out of school.
A Cook County judge sentenced 19-year-old Sharell M. Thomas to two years probation and ordered her to pay $649 in fines in exchange for her guilty plea, court records show.
Thomas did not attend the school, which authorities say was on a soft lockdown for about one hour after Thomas phoned in the threat on Nov. 14.
In addition to Thomas, Hoffman Estates police arrested three other teens: two juveniles and Markeisha N. Jones, 18, of Hanover Park, who were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct. A Cook County judge dismissed the charges against Jones in February.
