Team Six-Pack propel their way to volleyball victory

The Arlington Heights Park District Volleyball League's top four teams battled for the prestigious title of champions on Wednesday, June 11. Point after point rang in for each team adding to the suspense and adrenalin but in the in the end, Team Six-Pack walked away with the title.

“Wow,” is all Emily Root could muster after helping take the first set of matches which propelled them into playing the final team. Then, in back-to-back games they took the championship. “We nailed it. This is awesome.”

The now league championship team consists of: Kelly Pickering, Diane Fuller, Jessi Cabanin, Paige Tortorello, Emily Root, and Cheryl Poirier.

“I'm so impressed with my team mates,” explained Root, the Barrington resident as she wiped her forehead. “It's not like any of the other teams simply handed it to us, they made us work for it. We won because we were able to pull together and work as a team.”

Now that they're champions, root is planning on enjoying her summer and looking forward to next season.
