Kirk’s immigration vote disappointing

As an evangelical pastor, I was very disappointed by Sen. Mark Kirk’s vote against continuing the debate on the bipartisan immigration reform bill in the Senate last week. Like many other conservative Christians, I already disagree strongly with Sen. Kirk on issues such as abortion and some other social issues. I had hoped that he would at least consider the concerns of conservative evangelicals, Catholics and other values voters as we have spoken out in favor of common-sense immigration reforms that are consistent with biblical values such as compassion, family unity and respect for the rule of law.
