Rosary High School French students earn recognition at national competition

Ninety-seven percent of Rosary High School French students who participated in the National French Contest in 2013 earned recognition for scoring above the national average.

The National French Contest/Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French for students in all 50 states and abroad.

Ten Rosary students scored in the top 80th percentile or above of the 95,564 students nationally who took this year’s test.

Junior Maggie Nelson scored in the top 90th percentile out of 19,602 total participants in the Level 3 exam, and sophomore Isabelle Ylo scored in the top 95th percentile out of 24,129 total participants in the Level 2 exam — only missing one question.

Rosary offers French 1 and 2, French 3 Honors and French 4 Honors, taught by Madame Cassie Volpe.
