Rolling Meadows police seek man who tried to lure 12-year-old girl
Rolling Meadows police are looking for a man they said tried to lure a 12-year-old girl into his car Sunday morning.
The girl was walking across a parking lot in the area of Barker Avenue and Algonquin Road about 10 a.m. Sunday when she saw a car slowly moving toward her, according to police.
The man driving the car reportedly spoke to the girl in Spanish and asked where she was going and if she needed a ride, police said.
After the girl kept walking and did not reply, the man demanded that she get into his car, according to police. The girl then fled from the area and the man sped away, police said.
The drive is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, with a thin build and short, spiked hair. He was wearing a red Chicago Bulls tank top jersey with a white T-shirt underneath and a long, thick silver necklace with a circular pendant.
The car is described as a silver four-door sedan, unknown make or model, with body damage on the right front and right rear, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rolling Meadows Police Department at (847) 255-2416 or Rolling Meadows Crime Stoppers at (847) 590-STOP (7867).
