Villa Park dedicates new park with grand opening June 22

Villa Park Parks and Recreation invites residents to a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting for the new amenities at the Iowa Community Center Park, 338 N. Iowa, Saturday, June 22nd starting at 10:30 am.

The park now offers recreation amenities for all ages, including a state of the art skate bowl, a new, accessible playground, Bocce and Baggo courts, a children's educational

garden, native plant area, new concrete walks, a drinking fountain, benches and a gazebo type shelter. A DJ will be on hand and the festivities kick off with a skate boarding demonstration by friends of Villa Park's Motiv8 Skate Shop. At 11 a.m., Villa Park resident and Bocce enthusiast Edd Magierski will give a Bocce ball demonstration. There will also be a Baggos mini-tournament on the new courts.

The official ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 am followed by brief remarks from those who worked closely with the grounds project.

At noon, village employees will be serving free hotdogs and popcorn (while supplies last) and the park will officially open for all to enjoy at 12:30 p.m.
