Barrington Brew Fest set for July 13

Regional craft breweries will pour at the 10th annual Barrington Brew Fest from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, July 13. Enjoy live music, food and a beanbag tournament while sampling the best of the brews.

The event will again be held in the Fourth of July tent by the Metra station in downtown Barrington. More than 24 craft brewers from the Midwest, as well as from other parts of the country, are expected.

Food vendors will include McGonigal’s Pub, Big Iron Horse BBQ, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Gilbert’s Craft Sausages. Music will be provided by Second Time Around. The fest will also feature a beanbag tournament, co-sponsored with Barrington Local 3481 Firefighters and Paramedics, and a 50/50 raffle.

All proceeds will benefit the Barrington Area Council on Aging. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 on the day of the event. This year, the fest will also offer a limited number of VIP tickets for $80, which will allow holders admission at 2:30 p.m. and include samplings of selected premium craft brews. The ticket price includes a tasting glass and brew sampling. The first 650 attendees at the gate will also receive a free Brew Fest T-shirt.

Primary sponsor for the event is McGonigal’s Pub; secondary sponsors include Barrington Bank & Trust, Barrington Print & Copy and Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers.
