Artists in Arlington Hts. for annual Promenade

The two-day art festival at Vail and Campbell in downtown Arlington Heights, the Promenade of Art, is back June 8 and 9. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and free to the public, the festival welcomes more than 130 juried artists.

Rated as one of the top 100 art festivals in the country, the Promenade features jewelry, clothing, home décor, ceramics, fiber, glass, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, wood and furniture.

On-site art demos offer art enthusiasts a behind the scenes look at what does into the making of the one-of-a-kind creations found at the festival.

Promenade of Art Arlington Heights also features live music all weekend and art-themed activities for kids, including spin art, an art scavenger hunt and an interactive graffiti wall.

This year, the festival will also a Taste of Arlington Heights, featuring dishes and drinks from many of Arlington Heights’ most celebrated restaurants, including Armand’s Pizzeria, Peggy Kinnane’s Irish Restaurant & Pub, Tuscan Market & Wine Shop, Big Shot Piano Lounge & Restaurant and Harry’s of Arlington.

The fest has free admission and free parking, and it is two blocks from the Northwest Metra Line and the downtown Arlington Heights station.
