Palatine Christ Lutheran Church to celebrate 60th year
The Rev. Paul L. Hayes, interim pastor, along with the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Road, in Palatine, invite the community to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Christ Lutheran Church.
A celebration reception will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 22 in the church Fellowship Hall (downstairs). The anniversary theme, “Learning and Growing Together,” is based on The Bible verse, John 15:5: “I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” A pictorial church history will be on display. Current, former and prospective church members and friends are invited.
At 7:30 p.m., guest concert organist, Adam Gruber, will perform classical and contemporary organ music for everyone’s enjoyment. Gruber, an Arlington Heights native, is an accomplished performer who attends Oberlin Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio. He has been featured on Chicago’s classical music station WFMT, and is honored to be an E. Power Biggs Fellow of the Organ Historical Society. He performs throughout the U.S. and internationally.
On Sunday, June 23, there will be one celebratory worship service at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Cynthia K. Hileman, from the Metropolitan Chicago Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will inspire worshippers with her spirited message. Kenneth Spengler, organist and Dr. Yeeseon Kwon, pianist and music director at Christ Lutheran Church, will play a moving musical duet. All are welcome.
