Submitted by First Congregational

First Congregational Church of Dundee, 900 S. Eighth St. in West Dundee, is currently accepting enrollment for Littlest Disciples Preschool. The early education program year begins Sept. 3. Prepare your child for elementary school success and make learning fun all in a Christian environment with a small student-teacher ratio.

Parent’s Day Out for young 2-year-olds will meet on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for structured play. Preschool for 2-year-olds and young 3-year-olds (PK2/3) meets on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon. Children entering this class must turn 3 during the school year, no later than June 1, 2014. Preschool for 3-year-olds (PK3) meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Children entering this class must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2013. Preschool for 4-year-olds (PK4) meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Children entering this class must be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2013.

Class sizes are limited to 12 students with two professionally, trained teachers. Each curriculum is organized into theme and faith-based units that address complex topics and encourage children to develop their skills and confidence with learning and play. Language, math, science, creative arts, music, a Bible story, snack time, motor skills and social development are all part of each child’s educational and social experience.

Parents are welcome to view the preschool environment, meet the teachers, learn how the individualized curriculum can help children learn at their own rate and to their full potential and obtain registration information. To schedule a visit, contact Jamie Berndt, preschool coordinator.

The church is also accepting applications for preschool teacher and preschool teacher assistant for the 2013-14 school year. The preschool teacher plans, implements, evaluates and supervises a preschool class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 3- or 4-year-olds. The preschool teacher assistant works along with the teacher to ensure that the classroom is prepared for students in the morning and throughout the day. The teacher and assistant work with other Littlest Disciples Preschool staff and the coordinator to ensure proper programming for these children. Contact Jamie Berndt to submit an application for either of these positions or see the job descriptions at the website.
