Lombard shooting range reopening after snall fire

A Lombard shooting range is reopening Thursday in the wake of a fire that sent three employees to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Article 2 Gun Range at 250 Cortland Ave. is aiming to reopen its shooting ranges at 3 p.m. after repairing areas damaged by the fire.

Authorities said the fire was reported at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday. A Lombard Fire Department lieutenant who was at the scene said crews found a small insulation fire at the rear of the business that sent smoke throughout the building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Article 2 Gun Range, in an industrial park on the north end of Lombard, offers four shooting ranges and a gun shop. The gun shop portion of the business reopened at 10 a.m. Thursday.
