2 men charged in shooting death of Markham man

Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man whose body was found last month.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced Monday authorities are accusing 27-year-old Brandon Johnson of Harvey and 25-year-old Lester Larkin of Riverdale in the death of Eddie Bell of Markham.

Dart says both men were denied bond during their court appearance Monday.

The sheriff’s office says police officers last month were called to a street near Calumet Park, south of Chicago, where they found a man’s body riddled with bullets. The 35-year-old Bell was the subject of a missing person’s investigation.

Dart’s office says weapons, blood and cleaning materials were found in Johnson’s apartment. It wasn’t immediately known if Johnson and Larkin have legal representation.
