Lombard's Public Works to start Finley Road project

LOMBARD, Illinois—The Village of Lombard's Public Works Department announced the start of the Finley Road Pavement Project with construction starting the week of May 20th for the segment of Finley Road between Charles Lane and Crescent Boulevard.

This portion of the Finley Road Project should be completed this fall, weather permitting.

Starting the week of May 20, Finley Road will be detoured between Madison and Crescent Boulevard.

The detour will be in effect for the duration of the summer and the fall. All northbound traffic will be prohibited and southbound traffic is highly discouraged through the construction zone, since it will be periodically subject to additional delays. Residents living in the construction area will be unable to access their driveways during the curb work and roadway paving. Notices will be sent to affected parties prior to any disruption to access. Parking permits and designated temporary parking on side streets will be provided for residents affected by construction.

The Finley Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project includes the replacement of all curb and gutter, partial sidewalk replacement, driveway apron replacement, storm sewer construction and repair, replacement of water main and associated services, spot sanitary sewer repairs, and concrete pavement overlay. The purpose of these improvements is to repair existing underground utilities, improve drainage and provide a smooth riding surface.

If you have any questions regarding the construction of Finley Road, please contact the Village of Lombard's Department of Public Works at 630-620-5740.
