Lombard Fire responds to garage fire, no injuries reported

LOMBARD, Illinois— The Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire at 1139 S. Edgewood Avenue last night. According to acting Battalion Chief Brian Stuart, fire companies discovered a fully involved fire of an unattached garage upon arrival.

Heat from the garage fire caused damage to the two-story single family residence as well as to an adjacent home. A car in the garage was also significantly damaged. The damage to the garage, car and two homes is estimated to be $80,000.

The residents were home at the time of the fire and were notified by a neighbor that their garage was on fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Lombard Fire Department was assisted by the Downers Grove, Oakbrook and Villa Park Fire Departments and the York Center Fire Protection District.
