Des Plaines buys AEDs for police squad cars
The Des Plaines city council recently authorized the purchase of 25 automatic external defibrillators and other equipment for police squad cars. The AEDs could allow police officers who may respond first in an emergency situation to save the life of someone in cardiac arrest, officials said. Presently, there are no AEDs in Des Plaines Police Department vehicles. The total cost of the equipment is $31,575.
