The Hoffman Estates Police Department is pleased to announce its fourth annual Junior Police Academy Camp this summer.

This free camp for Hoffman Estates boys and girls will be held for five days from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 24, to Friday, June 28. It will take place at the police station, 411 W. Higgins Road.

Some of the topics covered include evidence collection, mock traffic stops, juvenile law, Internet safety and specialty units within the Police Department.

There are 25 spots available, and the camp is free to any Hoffman Estates child who is in fifth, sixth or seventh grades. Applications are available at both the police department and online at www.hoffmanestates.org/police, and are currently being accepted.
