Outdoor makeover week 1: My yucky yard

My yard has been beaten up by big dogs for years.

When you mow the lawn it is like skiing a mogul field.

It would be so much nicer if it were flat, green, and had a calming water feature to ease the stress of the work day.

It’s time for some back yard TLC.

Transformation by: Aquascape Designs

Budget: $3,200

Aquascape would create a simple yet beautiful water feature vignette starting with a large Stacked Slate Urn fountain nestled among a small rock garden.

The rock garden would consist of 12- to 18-inch rocks surrounded by smaller rocks, with the re-circulating fountain serving as the focal point.

A berm with trees would be included to serve as a back drop for the water feature which will have LED lights for night-time viewing.

Birds, butterflies and other wildlife would be naturally drawn to the water in their garden and the family will enjoy the soothing sound of the running water.

Included in the transformation would be:

타 Large Slate Stacked Urn

타 AquasBasin Reservoir

타 Pond Pump

타 LED Lights

Sustainable landscaping better for environment — and it’s less work
