Attorney to speak on Social Security issues in Barrington

Attorney Jeff Rabin will speak on current Social Security disability law and programs at the NAMI Barrington Area meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, Barrington village hall, 200 S. Hough St., Barrington.

He will also review how Social Security analyzes claims and outline how to make the strongest case possible to the Social Security Administration.

During the talk, Rabin will include practical tips on how to deal with the bureaucracy, how to communicate with treating physicians and how to minimize the chance of delays and lost files.

He will also explain the application and appeals process, and provide people with disabilities the information they need to protect and assert their rights under the Social Security Act.

A frequent speaker on Social Security issues, Rabin has lectured nationwide to a variety of community, legal, insurance and governmental agencies.

Audience participation is encouraged. NAMI will provide materials which will outline the subject matter and provide room for notes.
