Anderson Animal Shelter to offer Critter Camp

Submitted by Anderson Animal Shelter

Enrollment is now taking place for Critter Camp 2012, a one-week day camp program for animal-loving kids, at Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. LaFox St. (Route 31) in South Elgin.

Campers will spend the week engaged in arts and crafts, games, and activities with an animal welfare theme. There will be plenty of hands-on time with shelter animals as well.

This summer camp is an opportunity for children to learn more about the importance of animal issues such as proper pet care, spaying and neutering to help with the overpopulation problem, and animal safety while in a fun and engaging environment.

Session I for children ages 9-12 will be July 8-12. Session II for ages 6-8 will be July 15-19. Session III for ages 9-12 is set for July 22-26. All three sessions are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

The cost for the weeklong camp is $160, which includes all camp supplies, activities, and end-of-the-week party and prizes. Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day that does not need to be refrigerated.
