Your news April shower supports PHD’s Baby Closet

Although there were snowflakes falling on the morning of April 13, spring was in the air at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Palatine.

Pink and blue decorated the church hall as coffee, punch, cake and strawberries were served. There were presents galore for baby boys or girls. This baby shower was held to support the Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity’s Baby Closet.

PHD is a nonprofit organization that started as a pregnancy hotline in 1971, and has since evolved into a counseling and support center for women in Northern Illinois. The Baby Closet distributes baby food, clothing formula, diapers, winter coats and layettes.

Each layette provides a baby’s needs throughout the first nine months of life and are offered to clients at no cost. This would not be possible without generous donors.
