Lombard firefighter/paramedics to receive service awards

LOMBARD, Illinois—Members of the Lombard Fire Department will be receiving service awards from Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and the Illinois Department of Public Health for five year anniversary milestones for paramedic service.

Twenty-two men will receive service awards for 25, 20, 15, 10 and five years of service during Emergency Medical Services Week, which is May 19-25.

These 22 men have a combined 315 years of service and paramedic experience, according to Lombard Fire Lt. Frank Gallione.

“EMS Week honors all first responders and EMS members--paramedics and EMTs as well as firefighters,” Gallione pointed out. “There will be awards presented by Good Samaritan, as well as recognition at the hospitals during EMS week,” Gallione added.
