Elgin Opera presents ‘language of love’ concert

“Savoir Flaire,” a salute to the “language of love” a la Francais, will be presented by Elgin Opera at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the Sears Gallery Theatre on the campus of Elgin Academy, 350 Park St.
This creative synthesis of French music will feature Act II of “Lakme” by Leo Delibes, as well as beloved arias, art songs, and musical numbers from “Les Miserables” and “South Pacific.”
Cast members include: John Putz of Arlington Heights; Kimberly Albrecht and Brittany Albrecht, both of Barrington; Susan Dennis and Luke and David Bogaert, all of Bartlett; Aracely Garza and Katie Coughlin, both of Buffalo Grove; Jeffery Taylor, Aaron Wardell, Holly Flack and Sarah Sipll, all of Chicago; Sophia Peterson of Elgin; Oscar Menoyo of Hoffman Estates; Warren Kammerer of Inverness; Sharon Starr of Libertyville; Danielle Floberg, Saori Tomura and Anna Flynn, all of Palatine; and Dave Carmona of Roselle.
They will be joined by the Channing Elementary School Choir directed by Elizabeth Niemeier. It will all be accompanied by Kenneth McMullen of Palatine.
Special Eastern Indian choreography is being provided by Ellen Werksman of the Midwest Dance Collective in Barrington. Stage direction and music direction will be by Josh Jones of Gilberts, with costumes and production assistance by Ashley Alverth of Carol Stream.
