Lombard public works employees honored for years of water service

LOMBARD, Illinois—Eleven Public Works employees were honored yesterday for their dedicated service in the water supply industry.

Each year the Illinois Section American Water Works Association and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency jointly present Quarter Century Service Awards to individuals who have served in the water supply industry for 25 years or more. This award recognizes those individuals who have provided service in all facets of the daily operations of the water supply industry. The employees receiving the award are responsible for maintaining the Village's water distribution system including fire hydrants, valves and watermains, and, the water treatment and pumping systems, including the lake water receiving stations, water storage facilities, pump stations and regulatory compliance.

The honored employees include: Bryan Bartels, Joe Buscemi, Tom Byrd, Jeff Drenth, Jim Izzi, Dominic Ostrick, Angela Podesta, Tom Ryan, Dan Simons, Dave Taylor and Larry Trojanowski.

Terry McGhee, Manager of Water Operations for the DuPage Water Commission and Awards Chair of the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association said, “The recipients of this award do a great job. We recognize the good work they do within the water industry for good health and good public safety.”
