Donate your used shoes in Waukegan

Candidates for the Harbor Lites Chapter of the Links Inc. are sponsoring a “Recycle Your Shoes Drive” during April.

Any type of footwear still able to be worn will be accepted for reuse.

Only athletic shoes will be accepted in extremely worn out or falling-apart condition; such shoes will be used for recycling.

Sort shoes before donating them, place them in plastic garbage bags and label the bags for “Recycling” or “Reuse.”

Donors may also drop shoes off at the office of state Rep. Rita Mayfield, 120 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, from 9-10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 21. Call (847) 445-9438.
