LZ tops Fenwick in Pepsi consolation bracket

Vanesa Abad had a goal and an assist, and Lake Zurich’s girls soccer team knocked off visiting Fenwick 3-2 in a consolation-bracket game of the Pepsi Showdown on Thursday night.

Molly Powers and Meaghan Gelinas also scored for Lake Zurich (3-2-1), which led 2-1 at halftime. Meagan Bens added an assist for the Bears.

Prairie Ridge 2, Grayslake North 0: Freshman keeper Abby Rice made 6 saves in net for the host Knights in their Fox Valley Conference loss.

Loyola 4, Warren 0: In the Pepsi Showdown consolation-bracket match, Warren keeper Liz Carrano made 15 saves.
