COOL Ministries Waukegan Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Gala Event

COOL Ministries of Waukegan Illinois recently celebrated the organization's 30th Anniversary of service to Lake County's neediest neighbors with a Gala event held at Illinois Beach resort. The evening brought nearly 150 supporters out to support COOL Food Pantries and Family Housing programs.

The stars of the evening included comedian Karl Newyear aka “The World's Funniest Lutheran,” keynote speaker and former Chicago Bear, Glen Kozlowski of WGN AM Sports Central, and musician John Ludy Puleo. Awards were issued to a program graduate who told her families' story of moving from homelessness to living debt free in a home they now own as well as recognizing the founding members from 6 area Lutheran churches and 14 member churches.

The event raised nearly $7000 to support COOL programs which provide food to thousands of residents each month at two food pantry locations and housing to homeless families at 8 scattered sites located in Waukegan and Zion.
