NHL Ticket Pricing

The average American makes around $40,000 a year, while the average hockey player makes about 2 million a year. Something about this statistic is chilling when thinking about how much money fans have to pay to watch their teams play. When it comes down to it, the NHL would be nothing without their fans so they should be doing everything they can to keep them happy. A beneficial way of doing that would be lowering the prices of seats. This would give underprivileged fans the opportunity to see their favorite team in action and have the experience they deserve. The NHL makes enough money where they can afford to cut their fans some slack, plus they may even gain more fans by doing this. Also, hockey did not used to have as big of a fan base as it does until the past couple years, so when they finally started to gain viewers they had a lockout. This was a major concern to hockey fans not to mention a huge burden. The NHL should lower ticket prices if even just as a nice gesture for putting their fans through that! All in all, hockey prices are unnecessarily high and many people would benefit from them being lowered.
